The 2011 - 2012 school year is filled with a lot of new and exciting curriculum for 4th
graders. In math, we will work on place value to the 100 millions place. In math this year, we will
work on and pass our multiplication and division facts, work with geometric figures, work with fractions, and have some
fun with decimals. In reading, we have a bunch of new stories and adventures to read about including a new reading series.
We will also read novels from authors like Laura Ingalls Wilder, Betsy Byars, Beverly Cleary, and Judy Blume. Our science
curriculum is filled with great units and awesome experiments. Social studies will have a unit on Iowa, and we will
look at the 5 regions of the United States, and we will go on a field trip to West Branch to see the Hoover Presidential Library.
I will be teaching both classes of social studies and math this year, and Mrs. Foss will be teaching science and
reading. This looks to be an exciting and outstanding school year!
